The Vertex WX-D Jacket has been a foul-weather staple in our line for years, beloved by any rider who likes to put in the miles in even the worst conditions. The critical components of a foul-weather jacket are weather resistance and breathability. It doesn’t matter how cold it is outside, if you’re sweating inside your jacket the moment you pause to rest you will begin to rapidly chill due to build-up of moisture vapor. We wanted to take what we’ve learned from our previous Vertex jacket and further improve both warmth and breathability.

•Shell: Storm+ Laminate; Lightweight (150gsm), waterproof, windproof, high-stretch softshell fabric.
•Recycled face/back with C0 (non-PFC) DWR
•15k WP/15k WB
•Insulation Polartec Alpha Direct, a revolutionary insulation that is lightweight, compressible, fast-drying and excellent at regulating warmth.
•Zoned-application of fill strategically insulates while not overheating.
•YKK Vislon Aquaguard (#3) vent-zippers (two on chest) for quick ventilation.
•Interior zipper draft-flap for comfort and snag-resistance.
•Tall, tapered collar helps cut wind and cold while allowing for better freedom of movement and ventilation.
•Three large, top-loading pockets with draining feature for storing bulky/quick access items.
•One zippered valuables pocket with glove-friendly cord pull.
•360 reflectivity including large reflective strips, reflective logos and reflective pills.
•Elastic hem with silicone print to keep jacket in place.
•Elasticized, fleece-insert, low-profile cuffs for over/under glove use.

Designed with the uniquely structured Plastotexthree-layer, stretch knit fabric that incorporates a waterproof middle layer and brushed grid-fleece lining. This allows the jacket to remain extremely lightweight while also providing exceptional protection from cold temperatures and adverse road conditions. While not 100% waterproof, the Vertex does include taped shoulder and arm-hole seams, and a YKK waterproof zipper for defense against road spray and winter conditions.  Gusseted cuffs firmly seal out cold and moisture creating a seamless connection with your gloves.

The elevated rear collar gently presses against the shape of your neck, keeping the cold from rolling down your back as you press forward into the wind. Front vents with mesh backing, also with waterproof zippers, allow for temperature regulation. Continuing our passion for visibility on the road in low-light conditions, we have incorporated reflective taping and hits increase visibility in low-light conditions.

Weather Resistant

We designed the Vertex to utilize our highly weather resistant shell (our Storm+ Laminate) with large zippered vents and back-vent, paired with our highly breathable, quick-drying Polartec Alpha fill strategically placed. This combination of weather resistance and abundant air-flow/loft make for a deceptively lightweight and toasty jacket.

Quick Ventilation

We’ve included two water-tight YKK zippers (when closed) that can be opened to allow airflow through the jacket without unzipping your primary zipper.

Plenty Of Storage

Additionally, we added three large pockets to the exterior of the vest to store all your ride essentials including a zippered valuables pocket. The exterior pockets have a hidden micro-perforated fabric that allows any water that collects to drain through the bottom

Back Vent for Air Flow

This airflow is directed up your back and out our static, water-protected back vent creating a channeling affect to cool you and keep you dry.

Industry Review

adelaidebifolddoors has a relatively simple plan to handle temperatures between zero and 45 degrees Fahrenheit, and it actually involves very little layering. Up top, adelaidebifolddoors recommends a very warm base layer—like their High Grade Wool or Thermoregulator—matched to a really warm jacket with zippered vents, like the Vertex WX-D. And that's it. No jersey. If this feels a bit warm, go with a lighter base layer. As you warm up while riding, open your jackets zippers to drop heat and you won't need to worry about shedding layers."
